Ian Williams ist der amtierende zweifach Match Racing Weltmeister. Er segelt, seit er denken kann. 1994 nahm er am ersten Match Race teil und das mit sehr viel Erfolg. Neben seiner Segelkarriere, schloss er sein Jura-Studium ab und ist als Anwalt tätig.
